Elites of WHP,
1. This is an open invite to anyone of you based here in Port Moresby who is from, related to, associate with, or partner with Western Highlands Province that the Annual General Assembly/ Meeting (AGM) of the Western Highlands Development Forum 2011 will be held sometime in April and we wish to request a TEAM of volunteers to organize this event in partnership with the Interim Executive Committee of WHDF. If you, your spouse/wife, relative, friend, or workmate (who must be based in Port Moresby now) is interested, please forward his contact details to me immediately so that we can begin allocating functions and responsibilities. Anyone interested?
2. The Constitution of WHDF alongside the IPA Form 1 (Notice of Intention to Apply for Incorporation) has been approved on January 19th, 2011. Next week Tuesday or Thursday, WHDF will pay for advertorial of the approved-IPA notice in The National Newspaper. We wait 30 days from next week onwards. By end or March 2011, we will be able to get our IPA Certificate of Incorporation (as an Association) and also recieve our IRC Tax Code Number. We will then proceed to opening our bank account for WHDF. We need our elites working in ANZ, BSP, or Westpac to help WHDF open an operating account. Anyone willing to help us?
3. The WHDF online discussion site on FACEBOOK.com has grown to 310 members as of today. We hope that this number of membership will grow to a 1,000 soon as we spread the word of unity, consultation, cooperation, collaboration, and understanding amongst and between professional men and women of WHP in PNG and overseas for a public cause via WHDF. If you are on FACEBOOK, please share your thoughts on WHP - anything about development & challenges.
4. WHDF requests people who are skilled in creating websites to offer their services freely towards developing a comprehensive website for the WHDF. The URL which has yet to be registered may read: http://www.whdf.com. I have Melanie Kumbamong and Wesly Miriye willing to assist to creating this website. WHDF will provide the content and pictures. Anyone has some good pictures of WHP, please send them to me.
5. Some people who have volunteered to serve in the Board of Trustees of WHDF at the AGM include Alois Kopi Kuk, Dr. Fred Wurr, Dr. Michael Wilson (Pastor), Simon Korua, Margaret Parua, Tep Dami, Clivson Philip, Gabriel Pepson, Michael Makap, and others. George Leahy, Andrew Ogil, John Bori, Simon Kaiwi, Paias Tikili, Koi Trappe, and Max Kumbamong have been invited to consider sitting in the Board of Trustees of WHDF - we hope they will consider it at the AGM. At the AGM we will all be voting to choose these or other elites of WHP to head the WHDF in 2011 and onwards. Any other person interested thus far? 6. WHDF will host a "Cocktail Get-Together" at Pondo Bar at Crown Plaza some weeks from now. Once finalized, the confirmed details will be send to you all. This will be an opportunity for elites of WHP in Port Moresby to come together, share time, enjoy finger food and some drinks (includes soft drinks) at the Pondo Bar/ Restaurant in Port Moresby on the basis of come-pay-as you go basis. It would be a nice time for ALL elites of WHP (including Jiwaka) to come together and rub shoulders with fellow country men and women. Will keep you posted shortly once finalized.
7. A feature news article has been written up by the WHDF Interim Executive Committee giving the public the benefit of the doubt by detailing what its all about. It should be run by the National Newspaper or Post Courier anytime next week. So please keep an eye out for it. A copy of the story will be emailed to all of you after publication by one of our dailies.
8. Once again, PLEASE be reminded that this WHDF set-up is NOT political, NOT interested in politics, DOESN'T promote anyone's political interest(s), WON'T associate with anything political now or ever again, and remains a neutral, independently-driven, think thank, and development vehicle and forum for ALL elites of WHP anywhere in the world to share whatever is good to build our province. Besides, WHDF will work with current politicians and government bureacracy to deliver to the 500,000 people of WHP regarding its original goals and objectives.
